Fancy saving over half the price?

Today is one of the best days because its the day I finished exams. It is a day that lacks any great achievements but the day is good- you get to do nothing and not feel guilty about it. But today also means that I can start blogging and making videos alot more, hooray!

I am currently in the process of editing my haul that will be on my channel tomorrow afternoon, as I have planned my day out for tomorrow and I know that videos take about 4 and a half hours to upload (So ridiculous). As I mention in the video 3 for 2 always makes me overspend as I just can't help myself. I mean 3 for 2, come on! I just can't not.
Something I've had my eye on for a while is the Revlon lipstick which is 'Mauve It over'. It's such a lovely nude that gives my lips the 'your lips but better' colour. I think it would work with pretty much every skin type because its a darker nude rather than a more beige type of nude. Okay I feel like this is turning into how many times can I say nude. Do you think?
Anyway, I tried it on when I got home and it really reminded me of a lipstick I already owned. I've only just started collecting lipsticks and I started my collection with much more affordable brands such as Collection 2000 and Natural Collection. I had purchased a colour from Natural Collection (again 3 for 2), which is a brand by the drugstore Boots, in the colour "Biscuit". Revlon lipsticks are priced at £7.49, and when I compared the colours they are really similar, but Natural Collection lipsticks are only £1.99.
Okay the Natural Collection lipstick is a bit more shiny than the matte texture that is offered from Revlon, and 'Mauve It Over' provides more pigmentation, but I would consider it a dupe that is really worth investing in at well over half the price.
I'll put some pictures in so you can all see the difference....

Thanks for reading,
Have a great weekend!

Ebay Finds #1

So recently I've been addicted to Ebay. And this is literally not an exaggeration...its become an actual addiction! I scroll through pages of Ebay saying to myself "Okay, this is the last page", which of course, isn't. I think the need to find something after going through so many pages is what keeps me scrolling. But then I find something I l o v e. And my competitive side tells me I have to win. And as I've got really good at the whole 'Bid in the last 10 seconds' situation, I normally do.

Seeing as I have been buying lots of (really good) finds on Ebay, all for decent prices, I was thinking about starting a collection of blogposts dedicated to 'Ebay Finds', just to inspire and help you guys find some pretty good items for yourself! I will be adding in tips and tricks to find and win some good pieces which I hope will be helpful aswell!

So today is showing you something I got.
I really love flatforms, and have been trying to find a pair I like that are casual, because some flatforms are really quite high and I am not a high heel/wedge kinda girl for during the day. These flatforms I picked up are perfect for summer and going out during the day in, seeing as they have the jelly/clear affect strap and the height of the wedge thing is perfect.
Of course you can't be picky with sizes and these ones I found were a size 3. Determined to win and slightly in love, I decided that either way my feet would be squished into them, and that they had no choice.
But thankfully they are only the tiniest bit too small and can easily get away with them! Brilliant.

Please excuse my blindingly pale legs, I have always loved my paleness but I may have to succumb to a small amount of fake tan so that I don't blind anyone. Plus seeing as I hate feet, and I know many others do, I also apologise for them!

These shoes were originally from Divided (H&M), and I paid £4.99 for them (£3.00 postage).

Car Boot Sale video pictures

Hi guys!
So I filmed a video today on the clothes I got from a bootsale yesterday morning, which will be edited today and hopefully on youtube this evening. But just to show you what to expect I thought I'd do a quick blog post on the items I got!
I got 3 pieces of clothing which totalled up to just £7! That actually seems a lot for a bootsale strangely, but I love each piece and it is all in really good condition.
I managed to find all velvet pieces- typical me- all from vintage M&S.
One item was a dress, and the other two was a dress/long top and just a top.
If you are interested in seeing my outfit ideas and get to know my style stick around!

Thanks,
Jas x

My basic skin Routine

So I had the most exciting day on tuesday which consisted of getting a new, amazing camera. It has been one of the best purchases ever. As in ever. I can not wait to start blogging more and get my youtube channel back up and running. Yay!

I thought I'd show you my current and basic skincare routine. I'm currently not at home so I unfortunately can't show you everything I use, but this is the basics- plus I'm going to be filming my routine soon so this post is just on the products I use, not so much how I use it.

First off will be my cleanser. Having just saved my skin from it being the worst nightmare ever- curse you clinique anti-blemish 3 step system- this has helped balance my skin out and make it mostly blemish free and seriously soft. I'll do another blog post on how I saved my skin!
This is the very famous Cetaphil Cleanser.
It being so popular and easy to buy in America and it being the complete opposite situation here in the UK, I had to go onto Amazon and buy it from there. It took me a while to decide which formula to get- the cleanser aimed oily or the other aimed at sensitive skin- but I decided to be sensible and go for the sensitive skin one. Oily skin formulas are normally aimed at skin that produces ALOT of oil. My skin does get blemishes but I find over all it is normal to slightly dry, and products aimed at oily skin strip my skin and make it sensitive, red and even more spotty.
This cleanser is really creamy and makes my skin really soft. I can use it as both a creamy cleanser and a face wash, depending on the time of day or the condition of my skin is whether I use it as a wash-off cleanser or not.
Its working really well in my routine at the moment, but will do a full review once I use the whole bottle up.

A really good discovery is a brand called Naked. Naked products are 97% natural but are so reasonably priced. I've tried the cleanser, toner, cream and eye cream and love them all. I've not been using the cleanser but the toner, moisturiser and eye cream are all in my routine.
The toner is enriched with caster oil which helps protect the skin, as well as argan oil. It has a strong smell of caster oil which I'm not all to keen on, but I've got useto it and can't really notice it anymore.
It is a great toner and I would come back to buying it one day, but I will probably not repurchase for a bit after I've finished the bottle- my skin still isn't perfect and I've been left with scarring that I feel another product that has vitamin E in could help solve.
I have a strange love for packaging- is it just me?- and I can't say this packaging really makes me want to buy it. Its a really strange colour, and not in a good way. Kind of a grey/cream colour. Thats a drawback thats a bit petty but still a drawback none the less.
But for the moment I will be keeping in my routine!

Three creams I alternate between are is La Roche Posay Toleriane, Naked 12 hour Cream and Freederm Oil free cream.
I tend to use the La Roche Posay of an evening, as well as the 12 hour cream- I like to have a heavier moisturiser for the evening. However, I feel that the 12 hour Naked moisturiser is also suitable for the morning as it sinks in so nicely, whereas the La Roche Posay leaves a bit of an oily residue, which isn't good underneath makeup.
But I do tend to use Freederm in the morning- its 100% oil free, which means its great under makeup and isn't heavy at all on the skin. If my skin has a spot/ slightly oily this also works well. However, if my skins a bit dry then this cream is one I tend to stray away from because it doesn't moisturise my skin enough which is a bit of a bummer.
I haven't been using any of the creams long enough to say that they are holy grail, and I am constantly trying out new products, but we shall see!

And finally- eye cream! I know I'm only young but lack of sleep and dark circles mean that I decided to try another Naked product. To be quite honest I did nick this from my mums collection, but I really do love this and will purchase it for myself. It can sting my eyes so I have to be careful but it does make them feel really refreshed afterwards which is great for in the morning.

So thats just the basics, I'd be happy to show you everything I use, just let me know.
Thanks for reading.

3 for 2 in SuperDrug

So today i went out to SuperDrug to get my all time favourite concealer that is Collection 2000's last perfection concealer in fair. But then I had a thought, it is only my favourite because Ive never taken the leap to another, more expensive brand.
I am on a spending ban at the moment, which is of course, is disastrous. Especially when there is 3 for 2. How am I supposed to resist?
I've had my eye on the contour palette from Sleep for such a long time I couldn't even you why I haven't snapped it up. Most probably because whenever I go to buy it it's sold out!
But today I found it and I got one that was in the stock draw so it was completely untouched (score). I got it in the shade light which is perfect. It had the amazing highlighter aswell which makes this such an easy item to carry about. I'm a bit late to jump on the bandwagon but either way I'm so glad I did.
Next up is another hyped up item- the Sleek brow kit. Again this is always out of stock when I want it, especially in the shade light. I can't stand unnaturally dark eyebrows, and I find it so difficult to avoid it with my eyebrow kit at the moment. I can't wait to try this out!
And finally, I got a concealer which is the only thing I really needed- whoops. I thought I'd try something from Revlon because its one of my favourite brands. I have never been a lover of stick concealers, because they can be so cake y and unnatural, but this stick is a perfect colour match, and is it is not as pink as the collection 2000, but it is still very fair. This was of course more pricey, but still really affordable. I will be using this only for blemishes so should last me a really long time! I will of course review it for anyone that is considering this product.

I feel like I'm trying to squeeze blogposts in around revision so they aren't as great as they could be. But after exams they will be better!

Thanks for reading,

Monday 6 May 2013

Hooray for the start of the Car BootSale season!

It's got to that time of year that means we have the amazing things that are car bootsales. I've been going to them for literally years because my nan always took me, but I've only recently realised how brilliant they really are.
I actually haven't had chance to go to one yet because of other arrangements that mean I can't get to them, but my mum managed to find me these really cute shoes for just £5! That seems a lot for a bootsales but seeing as they were originally from office and are real leather, they are a bargain.
I hope to be able to go to one soon and spend some money on unique bits and bobs!
P.S, I hope to be posting more fashion related things from now on, but will still add the odd tutorial on makeup and some favourite beauty buys.

Catch you all soon,
Jasmine x

Youtube Channel

If any of you have ever checked out my youtube channel or actually happen to be one of my subscribers, you will probably have noticed the lack of videos I have uploaded recently.
I really love making videos, and I haven't stopped planning loads of different footage that would I would love to feature on my channel. It took me a long time to get the courage to make a video, but once I did it really didn't bother me, and I enjoyed it so much I have learnt to not care about others comments.
Its sad that I won't be able to upload for a while... due to the fact I'm a student that is learning to drive and is really not great with money (whoops!) I haven't been able to purchase the camera I really want, which means the quality of the videos wouldn't be what I want them to be and I can be a bit of a perfectionist.
After I've got things sorted I'll be ready to buy my camera and start videos all the time! This should also help the quality of my blog. I would also love to start vlogging, it just looks so much fun!

So be ready for my videos in the future,

A dupe that saves you over £30

Naked 2 and Undress me Too...It's not just the names that are similar!
For a long time now I've been eyeing the Naked palettes from Urban Decay, especially the Naked 2 Palette. The Naked 2 palette offers an array of colours that work amazing with pale, cool skin tones. So everytime I went onto Debenhams or BeautyBay I would add it to my basket, hoping that I would 'accidentally' press the confirm payment button. But as the mouse hovered over the final chance button all I could think was: "£36 for an eyeshadow pallette... really?" It would mean I'd end up purchasing eyeshadow brushes to go with it and in the end it would all add up to over £70 pounds for something that I only use occasionally.

I stumbled upon a comparison to Urban Decay's palette that was almost a dupe, from a English brand called MUA. MUA offer an affordable range that is part of Superdrug.

This palette was a mere £4.00, and I actually can say I love every colour in it. I was really excited to try the shadows, and I was pleasantly surprised at how pigmented they actually are. Of course they aren't going to be to the quality that you would get from the Naked eyeshadows, but for the difference of £32 I'm not surprised!
In this palette there are mostly shimmery colours, but you get a few lovely matte colours that are really soft and just so pretty.
I've had this for a while now and I really can't wait to try out another one of their palettes.
How many times have I said palettes now? Palettes, Palettes, Palettes. I just love them!!
Watch out for a future blog post on how I achieved a look using this product alone.
