Spring Pastels 2014

So today (and for the whole of yesterday) I have been wrapped up in bed due to a horrendous bug. Literally, I don't think I've ever been this ill before and therefore I am currently feeling very sorry for myself.

Anyway, today I thought I'd do a post on a few things that I am absolutely loving within spring/summer fashion. The pastel colours are everywhere, and I cannot get enough of them- especially the mint greens and pastel pinks, they are so pretty.
Finding myself lusting after lots of pieces that have caught my eye online, I thought I'd mash together a few of my favourite items, both staple and out-there, just incase you guys are enjoying the pastel trend as much as me and are keen to get an idea of a few more pieces.

One piece of clothing I have invested in that I put into the collage is the white high waisted Joni jeans. They are so simple to style, but can look both dressy and casual. I don't normally buy jeans just because I find they are quite expensive/ never fit me right, but these retailed at £36 with a further 10% off from my student discount, so I thought that was a pretty great deal!

I've tried to stray away from adding too many things from Zara, but seriously, have you seen their collection? I am lusting after pretty much every piece. The sad times of a student, ay.

A little break..

So, where have I been for months? Still here, just not blogging unfortunately! I tend to let things take over and don't have time to pursue the things that I really enjoy (blogging and youtube, for instance).

In the months I've been away quite a bit has changed for me personally.
I won't go into detail, simply because it will be seriously boring for you all, but will point out some of the major changes, especially to my appearance!
First off, I am now a brunette- and very happily so! It was a decision that I knew I had to make if i wanted my hair to stay on my head, because it had become really damaged from over processing and anymore would have seen the end to it. I am currently thinking about going for the chop- a bit like Alexa Chungs… I love the shape and the fact that I will be helping my hair out big time by doing it.
And the second major change would be something I've been working on for a few months now-- my weight loss journey! My weight is something that has always affected my confidence and also mentally. Without being completely typical with my cliche lines- it really was only me who could change what I really hated about myself in order to find some happiness at the end. I want to talk more in detail about my journey in any post, so will just keep it short and simple here. I've currently lost 26 pounds, and have dropped from a big size 12 to a 6/8.

Back to blogging a lot more regularly from now on.. the sales on boxing day will definitely be featured in a future post!

Thanks for reading, and if you've stayed following me, thank you!

Weigh-Ins

Hello lovelies,

So whilst I've been away from my blog I put on weight. I knew I had and it did really bother me yet I kept putting loosing weight off.
To cut a long story short, I am back to healthy eating and this time for good. I've recently lost 10 pounds, but am not back to my original weight that I could struggle through with and not feel as bad as I did a couple of weeks ago.
I have goals and I'm being healthy about it- its a lifestyle change! Seeing the difference in a few weeks really makes you want to carry on, and I'm determined to get to my lowest weight and target that I have wanted to be for years. Its reachable- but I need to just keep at it!
I'll be updating this blog every week with weigh ins, but I won't let the scales rule my life. I'm using clothes to see the difference as well, which is sometimes the way to see the weight loss.
I've taken before pictures and am so looking forward to reaching my goal and comparing.

Thanks for reading!

OOTD

So for christmas I asked for tartan, tartan and a little bit more tartan. I loved this jegging/trousers but then I forgot I had them!
I've seen that tartan has come back recently so I decided to get them out again.
These are from Topshop and are seriously comfy. I paired these with a black crop top, a biker jacket and Jeffery Campbells (I completely forgot to get pictures of them!)

Crop Tee- Primark, Biker Jacket- H&M, Jeggings- Topshop

They kept falling down unfortunately, usually I wear them higher.

Absence

Hello my lovelies,

Unfortunately it has been a long-time-no-see situation, which I have no real reason/ excuse for, except for working looooooads.
Another main reason was that I was lucky enough to go away for 2 weeks with my friend and her parents to Menorca. It was so lovely and sunny!
I did keep my youtube in mind and videoed a few bits and bobs that I will make into a short video, because I know that not everyone will want to see it- but I just thought it would be a lovely way to remember the holiday for me.
I've really been into fashion recently over makeup and so have got a few ootd planned that I hope to get on my blog asap really, but I have also got a few makeup bits to add in aswell.

A side note for you all is that I am currently a bit cautious to film- my hair is a really horrible colour at the moment and have had it tied up into I fix it. I tried to film the process but of course because I hate the outcome I will not be posting the video.

So now I'm just going to add a few pictures from when I went away.. but get ready for my next post that will be back to my normal themes!

Get Ready With Me: Make up and clothes for a concert

Hi everyone!

So tomorrow I'm going to see Rihanna and I'm really excited! It's going to be such a long day and I would love to vlog but I would feel a bit stupid putting myself out there knowing no one will actually see it haha (I'm very pessimistic unfortunately).
But I am going to be filming a'Get Ready With Me' video for my youtube channel, which is something I've only done once before and it was really fun!
I'm also going to create a blogpost sunday night about the products I used, and why and what I love about them- just incase you are interested in any of the products I used or are off to a concert and wondering what is really long wearing/ how products wear after extreme conditions.

Anyone who is followers me and occasionally checks out my blog will see that it looks a lot better, because I'm finally getting how to adjust my blogger template.
Thanks for reading guys and have a fantastic weekend!

A few recent purchases- Savers, Debehams etc.

Hello my lovelies!

So I have been doing some extra spending recently (whoopsie) on some beauty bits and I just thought I'd share what I've picked up and my first impressions as I have used all of these items already.

Of course everything was purchased by me so I am going to be relating to prices and whether I think they are really worth it.

Boi-ing, Benefit, Various Stores, £17.50
Firstly I am going to talk about 'Boi-ing':
This is a creamy concealer by Benefit, which is really popular on Instagram. It retails for £17.50 which is pretty steep, and I purchased mine from Debenhams.
As I said it is a creamy concealer, which provides high coverage over under eye circles but I also think it works great on spots that have just developed, because it isn't as great on dry flaky skin (gross I know).
It is really pigmented so a little does go a long way, but whether it is worth £17.50 I'm not sure because it does tend to crease under my eyes if I don't powder enough over and it isn't suitable for all skin types.
I have placed this in my daily routine and it seems to be working really well so I'm just going to see how it goes, but i think this pot will last me quite a while!

Next up is a BB cream by Nivea in the shade Light. I actually purchased this in a shop called Savers, which is a shop similar to Superdrug. I always manage to find quite a few bargains on skincare and makeup! I think this was £2.99, and I've been interested in a BB cream for a while and for this price I though I might aswell try it out!
As I've said before I am very pale and finding something that matches can be a difficult task! It looked really light on the packaging, but unfortunately it seems to make me look really pink/orange and didn't match at all. What I found even more strange was that although it changed the colour of my face it provided minimal coverage. I was only expecting the light coverage but for it to change my face colour so much I was a bit confused!
It has that strong Nivea smell which I find a bit intense and I am not a lover of fragranced skincare or makeup because I have really sensitive skin- as you can tell my skin can be really difficult to work with- and so I think it didn't help with the red tone to my skin.
I really wanted to like this product because it leaves my skin feeling really soft and healthy without an oily layer, but it just proved too difficult to work with.

Next up is much loved Posie Tint by Benefit. (I've become slightly obsessed with this brand!)
I actually purchased mine from a bootsale (It was New!) for just £4. However, I wouldn't recommend doing it this way unless you are completely sure that it is an authentic item. Unfortunately, I fear mine is n't! There is a spelling mistake on the back of the bottle which I didn't see in my excitement and I looked up pictures of Posie Tint bottles and the word 'Posie' seems to be too spaced out compared to genuine pieces. I am feeling robbed to be honest!
But I can get a feel for what the actual product would be like as this Posie Tint provides a tint that you would surely expect from the real thing. I don't like using this on my lips simply because I did buy it second hand but I'm sure it would work perfectly on lips to create a really subtle and natural tint. I do however love this on my cheeks because it is so natural as it just sinks into the skin which you can't get from powder blushes.

Next up is Katy Perry lashes in 'Oh, Honey!'.
This is a repeat purchase for me because I know how much I loved these the first time so I've just been able to repurchased and not have to worry! These are again from Savers because they do a great price of £3.99, which is a lot cheaper than Superdrug/Boots prices of £6.95-£6.99.
These are really natural if you want them to be but for clubbing/parties you can make them a lot more striking if you want to!
I actually didn't buy these for an occasion, but I never wear fake eyelashes simply because I always forget to buy them and its too late when I remember! But I do have a few events coming up so its just always a great thing to have in my makeup collection so I don't have to worry about finding a decent pair on short notice.

And lastly which is something I forgot to put in the overall picture is a angled brow brush by a brand called Kent.
I've never actually heard of this brand before now, but I was desperately looking for a eyebrow brush which was relatively cheap but still good quality. I had a look on Boots and Superdrug and the cheapest I could find still wasn't as cheap as this brush and didn't look as good of quality.
I found this on feelunique.com, and at £5.65 with free delivery I thought it was a pretty good deal.
It has lovely packaging- I don't know how to explain the material of the handle but its almost a suede-like feel! It is really easy to hold and generally is nice to look at.
I do feel that a higher quality brush would be able to provide a more precise definition of the brows, but for the price I really can't be expecting the quality of Sigma or Mac.

So that was just a few recent purchases for you all!

Keep Well,

Jas x
